Purchasing Manager                 

 

  • Responsible for the cost negotiation, supplier development and qualification for procurement of

        $13 million in spare parts and raw material

  • Led a team in development, validation, testing, training and implementation of customized MRP system (SAP) working closely with consultants to drive the process which took 18 months to realize
  • Targeted a unit cost reduction of 2% annually, measured and reported monthly with KPI analysis
  • Managed a transition from Goodyear to Sumitomo Rubber from a joint venture to separation which resulted in the insourcing of all procurement activities from a centralized buying center
  • Conducted a Vendor Conference with 65 suppliers that represented 75% of the annual spend for the purpose of introducing the new company, it’s philosophy, explaining the growth and investment of $87 million into the business
  • Proposed a Storeroom expansion project which would increase floor space by 50% to allow for the aggressive growth plans set out by the corporation
  • Worked in close coordination with Production, Engineering, Accounts Payable, Finance, and Maintenance to ensure necessary material flow for a 1 million square foot facility which operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
